Is this really what other countries think of America’s health care?
This appeared in an Australian newspaper:
"The United States remains the only developed country without government-funded health care for its citizens. This results in per-capita health costs being the highest in the world, and quality of care lower than western Europe and other similar countries. Several politicians over the years have attempted to rectify this situation, but the minority Republican party, allied with the insurance industry which reaps great profit from the system, has consistently succeeded in blocking any action."
hell, I’m an American, and even I feel this way

And yet, it is the USA that always has to bail those enlightened places out constantly the last 100 years. Why is that.

I don’t really care what other countries think - but it seems they DO know what is going on.

probably, however when you look at countries like canada and cuba… your realize the quality of care really is not better. Operations that would take weeks would take months or years, and with a universal healthcare system you find that many scam artists will get pain meds and other such prescriptions much easier and will sell them on the street.

well, as much as i respect Australia… no. First of all, the repub party isnt the minority, they lost by like 3%, the minority would be the ‘green’ party, etc.
I would like to see proof of the western European countries hving better quality of health care.
and gov funded health care would be idea if we werent in Huge debt and didnt have to tax the hell out of people.

Yes, that is what most people in the world know about the American system. So sad that 1/2 of Americans don’t know this as a fact also. Look at these other answers for christ sake. They can only go off on a tangent cause they can’t face the fact that our system has to be changed.
