How do I set up my domain to allow users to share documents across domains?

I currently have a setup with many computers in one zone. Out of all those computers, most of them are located in one large domain. We have a couple separate areas set up with their own little domains. Certain users have accounts in both Domains, but when they try to access shared folders that are on the other domain that they aren’t logged into they keep getting access denied. Is there anything I can do to allow them to access shared folders in the other domain without them having to log offf and switch to the other domain?

If you share it and let everyone see it, you should be able to get it if you know the entire hostname to get to the share.
Second option would be to set up an account for each user, on each computer so they can authenticate to it when they get to the share.
Last, get a server of some kind and have share folder there.
Good luck!

How do I give sub-domains cPanel accounts?

I wanted to know how to give sub Domains CPAnel accounts, and I am a reseller.

Ask the hosting company you’re reselling.

How come companies can afford to provide free web hosting but not free .com domains?

Saying that web hosting usually costs 5 dollars a month, and Domains usually cost 5-10 dollars A YEAR, how come people don’t provide free domains?
Hey David, thanks for the very long answer but I already use 1 and 1 host. This is just a question I was wondering.

Web hosting is easier to provide for free since the space that is provisioned on the web server may already be paid for. But for a domain name, they cost the host per domain just as they cost you and I, so they would lose a lot of profit trying to provide free .com names.

Do I have to pay extra money for "unlimited domains" in hosting plans which offer that option?

For example, FatCow and HostMonster both provide the "unlimited Domains" feature as a standard of their hosting plans. They also provide a free domain upon startup. Does this mean that when a person is paying for a standard hosting plan including this feature, they don’t have to pay anything extra to add domains to their account and work with them?

You can host unlimited domains. You still have to pay to register new domains. Usually about $15/yr for each domain.

How do I get control of my domains back?

I own two domains. I gave control of them to a web developer for the purpose of creating web sites at those domains. The guy took thousands of dollars and split town and wont return my Domains. I am the legal owner of those domains and can substantiate that. Does anyone know of a way I can force a transfer of the control of these domains back to my control, away from this crook’s hands? he is causing damage to my company by doing this, and litigation is pending. But I just want my domains back…any advice?

Do you host the domains yourself or are they hosted by a hosting company. If by a hosting company just call them and get them to reset all access passwords. If you host them yourself then get any IT person who knows your software products to do it for you. If for some reason the web developer is hosting them then you will have to find a new host and contact your domain name supplier and get the DNS records pointed to the new host….

where do you complain if a web host is reneging on their unlimited domains offer?

I just paid for a plan which claims unlimited domain names included in the hosting. As soon as I started asking about how to add new domains, they changed the help screen in my CPAnel (no more manage Domains button) and they don’t reply to my emails. I am still within 30-days money back guarantee, but I want to give them a chance to respond first.

It seams you have given them the opportunity to respond. If you have opened a support ticket with the company and they have not responded to you then I would contact billing and first ask for a refund. If it is not given I would file a claim with the company you used to make payment to them. I would also suggest looking up some web hosting review site’s and writing a review about the company so others searching this company up can see your personal experience. Hope this helps!
